Biographie

Je travaille à l'IRD depuis 8 ans comme Chargée de Recherche (2002-2006 ; 2008-2011 et 2019-), au sein de l'équipe "nutrition publique", UMR NUTRIPASS (Nutrition et Alimentation des Populations aux Suds), anciennement UR106 Nutrition, Alimentation et Sociétés. Je suis également Professeur honoraire de nutrition et santé publique à l'Université de Sheffield (Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health), où j'ai travaillé pendant 8 ans comme professeur et dirigé le groupe de recherche sur l'alimentation et nutrition (2011-2019).

Spécialisation

Je suis nutritionniste agréé spécialisé dans la santé publique (auprès du UKVRN) et diététicien agréé (HCPC) au Royaume-Uni.  Je suis également membre de les Sociétés africaine et britannique de nutrition et de l'International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity’.  Je suis Associate Editor de la revue Public Health Nutrition.

Recherche

Thématique  : Étudier les environnements alimentaires pour élaborer des politiques et des interventions respectueuses de l'environnement en Afrique urbaine.

J'ai plus de 20 ans d'expérience dans la recherche postdoctorale. Mes recherches à l'IRD ont porté sur la transition nutritionnelle et les environnements alimentaires, d'abord en Afrique du Nord (projets TAHINA/OBE-MAHGREB), en Europe (projets PORGROW/POLMARK), puis en Afrique subsaharienne (projets SUNRAY/MEALS4NCDS/RECAP). À l'université de Sheffield, j'ai continué à collaborer avec des partenaires africains, démontrant ainsi mon engagement dans la recherche en Afrique (projets SUNRAY, EVIDENT, NINOLIP, HEFCE, DFC, TACLED).

Des partenariats sont en cours avec l'Université du Ghana, Accra, et l'African Population Health Research Council (APHRC), au Kenya, dans le cadre de 4 projets de recherche conjoints depuis 2013 (Université du Ghana) et 2017 (APHRC). J'ai également une collaboration en cours par le biais de la supervision d'une thésarde avec K. BAYE, qui dirige le JEAI "AnemiNut" en Éthiopie.

Enseignements

Enseignement actuel : Université de la Sorbonne (Sustainable food environments in Global South-UE Santé Internationale et Santé globale, MPH), Université de Sheffield (politiques de nutrition globale et les environnements alimentaires)

Alors que je travaillais à l'université de Sheffield, j'étais directeur du MPH en santé publique européenne (dans le cadre du programme Erasmus Mundus EuroPubHealth). J'ai été directeur de l'enseignement pendant 3 ans, avec la responsabilité stratégique des 14 masters en santé. J'ai également créé et dirigée le Master en santé publique (en ligne) en 2011. Je continue d'enseigner le module "Nutrition dans les pays du Sud" et je supervise plusieurs doctorants inscrits à Sheffield et ailleurs (ABDUL-HAQ, BASH, TANDOH, TRUBSWASSER) et encadrer un AXA post-doctorant Ghanéen (OSEI-KWASI).
